Deborah Lipstadt's blog is at http://lipstadt.blogspot.com.

The execrable David Irving is still at it and has obviously learned nothign from his failure in court.

What are your views on the Lubavitch, the Chassidche Jews and the extreme Jewish Orthodox movements, meaning their outlandish dress, customs and complete social isolation. I blame them for providing the fuel needed to fire up the Holocaust. Its my view that when seen by non - Jews they create a storm of unease and unrest. In short many non - Jews look at them and think "Now I can see what Hitler saw and no wonder [looking at them] Hitler behaved the way he did". It needs to be said that very few non- Jews realise that they are a minority and not typical of the Jewish community as a whole. R England.

* This post is occasioned by seeing Chassidche Jews at Manchester airport and quite a number at New York airport, and analysing the stares from non-Jews as they walked past each other. In the airport lounges they stood out a mile and you could see people openly staring at them in amazement, this gets you thinking "What do non-Jews think of them, what do they tell others and are the orthodox doing the Jewish community any favours by looking so strange and outlandish in appearance". Its no secret that during the Holocaust they were targeted in the ghettos and camps and were massacred because they appeared so odd and scary looking?
