The nominations for the 2005 Jewish and Israeli Blog Awards have been announced. Israellycool and The Jerusalem Post are jointly hosting the second year of the awards.
The 2005 Nominations Page displays the blogs nominated in 16 categories. The preliminary round of voting does not start until January 9, 2006, giving readers an extended opportunity to visit the nominated blogs before the voting commences.
The number and diversity of the blogs on the list is impressive. The Jewish blogosphere is expanding, providing commentary, culture, and community -- an electronic community of magnetic relevance -- that is a source of hope as we move into 2006.
