Rabbi David Wolpe (“Floating Takes Faith,” “Making Loss Matter,” “The Healer of Shattered Hearts,” “Why Be Jewish” and “Teaching Your Children About God”) and Sam Harris (“The End of Faith” and “Letter to a Christian Nation”) debated the physical claims of science and the metaphysical claims of religion and the role of religion in society last night at American Jewish University.
The event, which is part of the week-long “Celebration of Jewish Books” at AJU, was sold out for weeks. Los Angeles Times religion editor Steve Padilla moderated a spirited and extraordinarily articulate discussion by both sides.
